So some of you seem confused as to what that National Film Registry post really is. You may think it’s just a random list of films but it’s anything but.

The National Film Registry is the result of the National Film Preservation Board’s annual selection of films they find deserving of preservation and recognition. Every year 25 films are selected for being
“culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” This is so future generations have ready access and is used to represent the
range of American film making. And is considered one the highest honors any film can get.
